Ashiatsu
This is our deepest massage bodywork. "Ashi" means feet and "Atsu" means pressure. The therapist begins by cleansing her feet before starting the session. It is a massage performed with the therapist's feet as overhead parallel wooden bars provide balance as she works. By utilizing smooth gliding foot pressure and rocking motions with her feet, the treatment gives overall a much broader, deeper massage effect. This treatment can be modified from light pressure to deep to alleviate discomfort of tight muscles in large muscle groups. This modern application combines the best elements of traditional Thai massage and barefoot Ashiatsu from Japan and is an approved treatment by the NCBTMB and the AMTA.
